Completion is planned for July 2004.

SABATTUS – Construction continues on the grades three to eight intermediate/middle school on Ballpark Road.

“Thus far, the project’s on schedule,” said Assistant Superintendent Susan Hodgdon. Workers have completed the foundation, she said, and recently put up the steel columns for the classroom wing. They have also started digging a trench along the north end of the site for the sewer line easement, she said Wednesday.

The school will accommodate approximately 375 students and have a music room, an art room and a larger library than the old school.

The old school will be renovated and will house grades kindergarten to two.

Arthur C. Dudley contractor/builder of Standish is the general contractor. Voters approved the project in June 2002.

The project will cost $9.1 million and is targeted for completion in late July 2004.
