AUBURN -The National Hypertension Association’s What’s Your Number? National Hypertension Screening Initiative is kicking off the Lewiston/Auburn campaign to combat high blood pressure in the community.
What’s Your Number? will provide a free blood pressure screening from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, at Wal-Mart. The event is open to the public and will include free blood pressure screenings by local community physicians and nurse volunteers. Educational materials will also be available.
The initiative is a hypertension screening and community education program aimed at raising the awareness of hypertension in local communities and is supported by an educational grant from AstraZeneca.
In addition to the blood pressure screening the first 80 people will be offered free cholesterol screenings.
