1919 – 2003
SABATTUS – Elsie D. Lee, 83, of the Sabattus Residential Care Facility in Sabattus died peacefully at her residence Friday, Aug. 15. She was saved in Christ.
She was born in Newark, N.J., on Dec. 21, 1919, the daughter of Louis and Mary (Lurch) Theis and had been a resident of this community since 1986.
In her younger years she was employed as a telephone operator at New Jersey Bell.
She married Donald P. Lee in 1952 and he died in 1979.She was a member of the Spirit Of Fire Evangelistic Ministries of Lewiston.
She loved the ocean and lakes, enjoyed dining out, dancing and going to movies. She enjoyed helping and caring for others especially at her apartment on Canal Street.
She often mentioned she felt part of a family at the Sabattus Residential Care Facility.
She is survived by one son John S. Lee and his wife Dolores of Buckfield; one daughter Mary A. Lee of Spring Valley, Calif.; one brother, Louis Theis Sr. and his wife Florence of Bradenton, Fla.; two grandchildren Karen M. and Joseph A. Lee, both of Lewiston; one great-grandson Vincent Scott Lucey of Oxford; and a special cousin Marion Stockton of New Jersey.
