1923 – 2003

INVERNESS, Fla. – Marilyn C. Hobart, 80, a former resident of Jay, died Friday evening, Aug. 15, at Citrus Memorial Hospital.

She was born in her home in Brunswick on March 11, 1923, the daughter of Josiah and Cora Dow Chase. She received her education in the Brunswick Public School system and was a graduate of Brunswick High School.

On Dec. 7, 1946 she married Chester B. “Gus” Hobart in Oxford. She was employed at the Brunswick Record in the print shop and following her marriage, she worked as a stitcher at the local shoe shops.

She was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Dixfield. She and her husband owned and operated the Antique Auto Museum in Jay since 1980.

She is survived by a sister, Lucy A. Allard of Inverness, Fla.
