LIVERMORE – A section of River Road is expected to be closed Wednesday through Friday for culvert replacement at Fish Meadow Stream. It is part of a two-mile, $170,000 upgrade of the road.

The road is scheduled to be closed to through-traffic from Strickland Ferry Road to Maple Lane, said Livermore Administrative Assistant Kurt Schaub.

The closing is anticipated to be through Friday, but it could be longer if the work is not completed by then.

A town crew will be replacing two, 24-inch concrete culverts, which are about 40 years old, with a 60-inch heavy duty plastic culvert.

Road improvements include upgraded drainage and reclaimed ditches.

Pavement has been ground, Schaub said. Sections are to be shimmed where ruts have been embedded.

Commercial Paving of Scarborough is in charge of paving and the town is doing drainage and culverts.

Detours for alternate routes are expected to be posted.
