1932 – 2003

CHESTERVILLE – Theodore L. Iverson, 70, a resident of Gordon Hill Road in Chesterville, died very unexpectedly Thursday, Aug. 21, at his home.

He was born on Sept. 15, 1932, in Herman, the son of Arnold M. and Doris L. Sears Iverson and attended the schools of Fayette and Brockton, Mass.

He served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict as a Corporal from 1950 to 1953, where he earned the Korean Service medal with three clusters and a United Nations Service medal. On Feb. 2, 1957 he married Beatrice Manning of Rockland, Mass.

After moving to Chesterville, in 1964 he went to work for Foster Manufacturing in Dryden and worked as a carpenter for Diaz Construction in Jay and had also been self-employed as a carpenter.

“Ted” was a life member of the American Legion of Belfast and enjoyed hunting and listening to music.

He is survived by his wife of Chesterville; six sons, Kenneth and his companion Barbara Pelletier of Chesterville, Dennis and his wife Pam of Augusta, Guy and his companion Laureen Haley of Chesterville, Jed and his wife Theresa of Farmington, David and his wife Dorothy of Exeter and Andrew and his wife Michelle of Jay; a brother, Bruce Iverson and his companion Meredith of Portland; 14 grandchildren.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Dolores Cannon and Margaret “Tiny” Inman; and a brother, Harvey Chambers.
