1907 – 2003
LEWISTON – Auguste D. Landry, 96, of 540 College St., Lewiston, died peacefully Saturday evening, Aug. 23, at Montello Manor.
He was born in St. Pascal, Quebec on April 3, 1907, the son of George and Claudia Levesque Landry. He had been a resident of this community for most of his life.
He was employed as a loom fixer for many years at the Hill Mill, Bates Division until his retirement in 1969.
He married the former Laurette Michaud on July 3, 1933, who died on Aug. 24, 2000.
He was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Church.
He was an avid outdoorsmen, especially enjoying gardening and hunting. He also enjoyed cooking.
He is survived by one daughter, Suzanne Leclerc and her husband Marcel of Greene; one son, George Landry and his wife Mable of Waverly, Ala.; five grandchildren, Daniel Leclerc and Roland, Robert, Richard and Roger Landry; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by four sisters and one brother.
