1910 – 2003

Lewiston – Bertha Caron, 93, formerly of Moody Road, Lisbon, died Saturday evening, Aug. 23, at Marshwood Healthcare Facility with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Tetford Mines, Canada, May 19, 1910, a daughter of Alphonse and Melanie Drouin Poulin. She attended local schools.

On June 1, 1936, she married her beloved husband, Gerard Caron. They shared 61 years together until his passing in 1998.

For many years she worked as a spinner at Bates Mill, and later retired from Ray Ex eyeglass frame company in Connecticut.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish for many years.

She enjoyed playing cards, cooking great meals, and enjoyed the special times spent with all of her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Louise Ruby and her husband George of Lisbon, and Claudette Stewart and her husband Larry, also of Lisbon; a son-in-law, Byron Bickford of Lisbon Center; nine grandchildren, Michael Bickford, Brenda Musser and her husband Gerald, Keith Bickford and his wife Diane, Sheila Sears and her husband Kevin, Joyce Ruby and her companion Charles Sachi, Becky Jones and her husband Mark, Peter Ruby, Curtis Stewart and his wife Anita, and Marcie LeBel and her husband Andy; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by one daughter, Lorraine Bickford; one sister; and seven brothers.
