1917 – 2003
NORWAY – Muriel Lowe Raymond, 86, of Bryant Pond, died in Norway Aug. 23.
Born in Norway, March 12, 1917, the daughter of Clyde M. and Margie (Staples) Lowe, she was educated in local schools and graduated from Woodstock High School in 1935.
She had worked at the Stowell Silk Spool in Bryant Pond for eight years, before going to work at the Bryant Pond Post Office as postal clerk for 27 years, retiring in 1997.
She married Fred N. Raymond on Nov. 29, 1947 and he died on Feb. 25, 1990. She was a member of Jackson-Silver Post 68 American Legion Auxiliary, Bryant Pond Baptist Church, American Postal Workers Union, AARP and the Woodstock Alumni Association.
She is survived by one sister, Evelyn Waite of North Yarmouth.
