1987 – 2003

BOSTON, Mass. – Justin Scott Robinson, 16, of Martin Road, Kittery, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, at Children’s Hospital in Boston, after a three-year battle with cancer.

Born in Portland, Jan. 9, 1987, he is survived by his loving parents, Sheila and Don Penney of Kittery.

Justin was going into the 11th grade at R.W. Traip Academy in Kittery, where he had so enjoyed the time he spent with his many friends. He was very active in sports, playing football, and his greatest love, basketball.

He was known to all who knew and loved him as a very warm and enjoyable young man; able to offer comfort, even to those who were there to comfort him. He will be remembered for being a daredevil, not backing away from any challenge.

Most recently he rode the “top fuel dragster,” the highest roller coaster in the United States, in Ohio. Just a short time ago Justin and his family and several close members of his support system completed a day of skydiving, a day that offered him so much joy.

Justin enjoyed his recent trips to Italy with his schoolmates and his family trip to California, enjoying Universal Studios, Disneyland and many other sites. Everything he did demonstrated his desire to live life to the fullest.

He and his family will be forever grateful for the love and support of so many, including the entire community, which has been so supportive, the nurses on Seven West at Children’s Hospital, the caring support team at Hospice of York and so many others.

Justin is survived by his loving parents, Sheila and Don Penney of Kittery; his sister, whom he was very close to, Aleece Penney of Kittery; his grandparents, Lois and James Gray of New Gloucester and John and Mary Penney of Topsfield; his aunts, Ann and her husband, Rick Martel and Julie and her husband, Chris Lee; and his uncles, James and his wife, Torrey Gray and Scott and his wife, Carol Gray.
