AUBURN – Erica Dorso converted a relay from Caitlin Rutt at 7:12 of the second half as St. Dom’s outlasted Old Orchard Beach 1-0 in WMC field hockey action Monday.

Elisha Dorso helped the Saints dominate the offensive end. The Saints (1-0) outshot the Seagulls (0-1) by a margin of 10-7.

Alissa Vallee was perfect in goal for the Saints with seven saves, while Kristi Geaumont repelled nine shots for the Seagulls.

Lake Region 2, G-NG 1

GRAY – Ashleigh Tabor nabbed a crossing pass from Kayla Nowell and slipped the ball past goalie Alyssa Clark to lead Lake Region to a 2-1 victory over Gray-New Gloucester.

Krista Carlson scored the Patriots only goal.

Telstar 3, Dirigo 0

BETHEL – Kayla Mills scored the opening goal of a rebound in the first half to lead Telstar to a 3-0 win over Dirigo in field hockey action Monday.

Liz Rosenberg converted a pass from Mallory Brown, while Santana Wilson chipped in with a goal off a pass from Tanya Knox in the second half to round out the scoring for the Rebel (1-1).

Dirigo’s (0-2) Danny Tompkins was credited with six saves off of 25 shots for the Cougars. Stephanie Tripp and Heather Gionet split time in net for Telstar, combining for one save.

Lisbon 5, Jay 2

LISBON – Emily Poliquin scored consecutive goals to nudge Lisbon to a 5-2 win over Jay.

Kelly Campbell gave Lisbon a 1-0 lead. Poliquin’s two goals launched a three-goal outburst in three minute to push Lisbon up four.

Britney Doughty beat the clock with 16 seconds left on a breakaway for the Greyhounds’ final goal.

Jacyn Lautz and Allyssa St. Pierre scored for Jay.

Winthrop 4, Georges Valley 0

THOMASTON – Meghan McCarthy scored the eventual game-winner four minutes into the second half to lead Winthrop to a 4-0 win over Georges Valley in MVC field hockey action Monday.

Nicole Emery added to the Ramblers (1-1) second half momentum with a pair of goals and an assist.

Goalie Mirand Fillebrown made three saves for the Buccaneers, while Tabitha Therrien and Keltie Mullen shared keeper duties for the Ramblers.

NYA 4, Traip 2

YARMOUTH – Krista Rogers piloted the eventual game-winner as North Yarmouth pawed their way to a 4-2 win over Traip Academy in WMC field hockey action Monday.

Hillary Humiston tallied an unassisted goal and Rachel Dostie converted a pass from Jackie Driscoll for the Rangers.

Boys’ soccer
Hall-Dale 1, Mtn. Valley 0

FARMINGDALE – Jack Leet scored the only goal of the game on a penalty kick to pluck a 1-0 Hall-Dale victory from the clutches of Mountain Valley in MVC boys’ soccer action Monday.

Defense was the theme of the contest between the combatants as goalie Reid Durost repelled all 16 shots he faced in goal for the Bulldogs (1-0), while Eric Meader made 15 stops for the Falcons (0-1).
