TOGUS – The Department of Veterans Affairs will host a Women’s Veterans Expo from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Togus Medical and Regional Office Center.

The purpose is to honor and serve all women veterans who answered their country’s call in time of need. Dozens of federal, state and local agencies will participate, explaining programs available to assist women veterans. Programs and presentations will take place throughout the day focusing on VA benefits, health education and promotion, job training and employment, small business opportunities and social security benefits.

A free continental breakfast and lunch will be served to all who attend. In addition, free gifts and door prizes will also be made available to the women veterans.

The event was made possible as a result of donations from local businesses, nonprofit organizations and service organizations throughout the state.

Due to the large number of women veterans who are expected to attend, preregistration is required. To learn more or register, contact the Va, toll free at at 1-800-827-1000, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
