FARMINGTON – The youths of Old South Congregational Church will hold a yard sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, to raise money for the church’s new mission project: providing a free community luncheon once a month.

The church will host its first luncheon from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4. The menu will include beef stew, noodles, bread and dessert.

“We want to invite the wider community to come and enjoy fellowship and food at Old South,” said the church pastor, the Rev. Cathie Wallace said. “We are blessed with a wonderful, spacious building and volunteers eager to give back to the community we live in.”

During the school year, there will be seven Old South Community Luncheons. The others will be Dec. 6, Jan. 3, Feb. 7, March 6, April 3 and May 1.

All are welcome at both the free luncheons and at the yard sale on Saturday.
