PARIS – A 21-year-old Bridgton man received an 18-month sentence Wednesday in Oxford County Superior Court after pleading guilty to trafficking in prison contraband.

Michael Robert Holden of North Bridgton was being held in the Oxford County Jail Aug. 19 when he was caught in possession of unauthorized prescription drugs.

Holden was in jail after being arrested for stealing his grandfather’s vehicle on Aug. 16. He also pleaded guilty Wednesday to a charge of theft in that incident, and was sentenced to six months to run concurrent with the trafficking conviction.

At the time of the theft, Holden was on probation for unlawfully entering a trailer on Round Pond on the Pond Road in Norway on Aug. 23, 2002, and damaging the door with a crowbar.
