Waverly introduces “French Accent,” a wallpaper and fabric collection inspired by toiles and florals from grand country homes to provincial cottages, adding dashes of humor and plenty of Spice, peppered with Cranberry, as well as other typical colorways inspired by the French countryside.

Limoges Border and Limoges Vine wallpapers are inspired by Limoges, a graceful vine rose bouquet fabric. Roses and bouquets, in swags, decorate the border. Just the roses with leaves, in a moderately crowded layout, enhance Limoges Vine.

Fleur Jolie Toss takes individual posies from its namesake fabric with its perky, distinctive, classic flowers, on plenty of background. La Belle Campagne wallpaper and fabric is a grand toile, with a 36-inch repeat, that is taken from a period French wallpaper. Maids chat with their lovers, a horse and buggy crosses over a mediaeval stone bridge and sheep, urns, trees, cows and ancient buildings enhance the scene.

Vignette Toile, both fabric and wallpaper, features cartouches framing roosters, couples sitting in idyllic French country scenes, surrounded by an Empire-style scroll and simulated filigree swags. Multicolored florals in dramatic bouquets decorate Bordeaux wallpaper.

Rose Cameo is a dramatic pattern which, like cameo brooches, is two-toned in the collection’s Porcelain, Mustard, Cranberry, Sage and Black colorways. Geneve, with its broad bands of color, includes stripes ofairchitectural accents and roses borrowed from the dramatic plaster decorative elements of a grand French country estate. The intricate plaster work with escutcheons, florals and acanthus motifs from this elegant home is the focus ofchartres Border and Chartres wallpaper.

Val-de-Loire Border shows fine porcelain dinner plates, pitchers, mugs and canisters rendered with trompe 1’oeil cripsness. Val-de-Loire Toile’s line drawings include elegant silverware, silver toast racks and wine goblets as well as porcelain pieces. These elements dot Val-de-Loire Toss.

Bourges is a wallpaper with an ironwork scroll on a distressed, sponge-like texture. Coq-A-Doodle-Do Border picks up the motifs from the fabric, where roosters in square frames made of a delicate tied fabric motif, come; and go on checkerboard. Roosters in formal diamond-shaped frames decorate Chaumont

Legumes Border picks up title vegetables of the fabric. Legumes-translated from the French to mean vegetableswith its painterly seedpacket effect on a simulated burnished, distressed background. Veggies, with their French names featured in script, include Carotte [carrot], Artichaut [artichoke], Feves [fava beans] and Fenouil [fennel].

Delicate floral vines dress Accent Toile. Verdure’s faux brushstroke plaster effect complements Le Poire Border, which simulates an oil painting on canvas. Painterly strokes enhance the background ofLe Poire, a wallpaper with fruit widely spaced. Country Fair is a lovely gingham and Essex Stripe alternates solid bands with thinner ones.

Along with Spice, Cranberry, Porcelain, Sage and Black, the French Accent color palette includes Wedgewood, Mustaird, Blue, Cobalt Blue, Golden, Crimson and Olive. Chartres and Chartres Border come in Clay, Timber and Chestnut.
