LEWISTON – Lucille Comeau Peillet (“Luco”), 74, formerly of 1635 Main St., Lewiston, reached her final journey Monday afternoon, Sept. 22, with her family by her side. She courageously fought a battle with Alzheimer’s for many years.

She was born in Lewiston, Sept. 21, 1929, the daughter of Leo and Lily Coulombe Comeau. Educated at Ave Marie Academy, she graduated as Valedictorian of her class. She matriculated on to Auburn Maine School of Commerce where she accomplished highest honors in her studies. She and her husband Charles J. Peillet, were the first couple to be married at the Franciscan Monastery in Greene on June 12, 1954.

She began her business career at L&A Grocers in the accounting department and secured the position of Executive Administrative Assistant to the president of Oxford Paper Co. early in her career. She later helped establish a business, C.P. Associates, with her husband where she was the finance and administrative associate.

Early in her life, she was an accomplished artist in both music and painting. Several of her pastel art paintings were recognized in regional art shows. This talent later developed in the culinary arts where she created confectionary designs.

Throughout her life, she was actively involved with her three children’s interests. Her involvement ranged from the founding of St. Joesph’s School library with Doris Harkins, organizing support for the school band, and leading Troop 121 Girl Scouts.

She was an active participant in her church, and was elected Prefect of the St. Joesph’s Queen’s Guild Sodality and served as an Eucharistic Minister. Additionally, she held the position of Secretary for the Maine Chapter of the Associated Shoe Executives.

She enjoyed Equestrian sports and continued to share this interest with her children. Charles and Lucille enjoyed travel to Europe. Her close ties with her sister Pearl brought her travels to the West coast where they enjoyed trips to Mount Olympia and Mexico together. Other hobbies enjoyed included ceramics, card playing, cross-country skiing and horticulture.

She will be deeply missed by her husband of 49 years, Charles; son, Mark of Auburn; daughters, Karen of Lewiston and Susan of West Newton, Mass.; and grandchildren, Kali and Sean.
