BANGOR – The University College of Bangor, a campus of the University of Maine at Augusta, announces a competition for artwork to be acquired by purchase or commission. The project will be for the benefit of the campus and the greater Bangor community.

The amount of $10,000 is available through the Percent For Art Act passed by the state legislature.

The location is next to the newly renovated Camden Hall on the Bangor campus. The site is exterior to the building and the scope of the work project is open with respect to the media, scale and subject matter.

The site is a grassy area partially shaded by a mature maple tree. The university wishes to use the area as an informal setting for students, staff and faculty.

A Percent For Art Selection Committee will serve as the jury. Interested applicants must submit materials to Percent For Art Competition, the University College of Bangor, Office of the Campus Dean, Bangor Hall, One University Drive, Bangor, ME 04401-4331. Submission of preliminary materials must be postmarked by Nov. 1.
