FARMINGTON – Dennis Joseph Liwski, 70, of Farmington died Sunday evening, Oct. 5, at Togus. He was born Feb. 13, 1933, in Flushing, Long Island, N.Y., a son of the late Felix F. and Julia A. (Donovan) Liwski.

He attended school in New York and moved to Maine in the summer of 1950. He was a graduate of New Sharon High School class of 1951. Starting in 1955, he served with the U.S. Army in Europe through 1957. On June 28, 1958, he married the former Clare Bailey at the Farmington United Methodist Church. For over 24 years he owned and operated Liwski Refrigeration and Appliance Service. He was a charter member of B.P.O. Elks Lodge #2430 in Farmington. A member of the Roderick-Crosby Post in Farmington, Kora Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. in Lewiston and Franklin Lodge #123 A.F.& A.M. in New Sharon. He enjoyed visiting people, the ocean and playing cribbage.

In addition to his wife of 45 years, he is survived by a daughter, Margaret Ann Phipps and her husband Leslie of Brooksville, Fla.; a grandson, Leslie “Lee” Phipps III; a granddaughter, Alexandra Phipps; an aunt, Mrs. Robert “Mary” McCluskey of New Rochelle, N.Y.; and many cousins.

LIWSKI – Dennis J. 10/5/03. Services will be held at the convenience of Mr. Liwski’s family. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Farmington. Arrangements are under the direction of Western Mountains Cremation and Funeral Service, Farmington.
