LEWISTON – Maine Public Broadcasting is looking for volunteers to help with The Great TV Auction.

Maine Public Broadcasting is seeking “go-getters” throughout Maine and eastern New Hampshire to assist with the 2004 auction. Volunteers are needed to pick up items from their communities and deliver them to drop-off locations. The organization provides contact information and training, and asks that volunteers provide only the time and energy.

Maine Public Broadcasting connects audiences in every community through The Great TV Auction, an annual televised event and the largest single fund-raiser that, in 2003, raised more than $550,000 for programming. The goal is to give every business proprietor and artisan an opportunity to participate.

The auction is a 10-day event that will be televised on Maine PBS April 23 through May 2. If interested, call Pam Smart, volunteer coordinator, at 1-800-884-1717. For more information or to donate, call the auction office at 1-800-884-1717.
