LEWISTON – The public is welcome to join Girl Scout troops from Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties “Stuff the Semi” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at the Goodwill Industries Westside Facility, 618 Main St.; the main office at 243 Leighton Road in Augusta; or at the Girl Scouts Kennebec Council at 138 Gannett Drive, South Portland.
For the 10th year, the Girl Scouts of Kennebec Council and Goodwill Industries of Northern New England are working together to fill a tractor-trailer with donated goods. Girl Scouts are collecting clothing, toys and household goods. Items will be distributed throughout Goodwill’s stores where they will be sold to help fund programs and services for people with disabilities and other barriers to independence.
Last year Girl Scouts collected more than 30,000 pounds of material for Goodwill.
