PORTLAND – The following University of Southern Maine students received awards at the annual 2003 Recognition Day ceremonies last spring. Recipients are listed below in alphabetical order by hometown.

Auburn

Robyn L. Dumont, a social and behavorial sciences major, received the Mechanic Savings Bank Scholarship. She is a 1987 graduate of Edward Little High School. She is the daughter of Norman and Mary Rose of Auburn. She resides with her husband, Jeffrey.

Nancy Turcotte Bernier, an applied immunology and molecular biology double major, received a trustee scholarship and is a Research and Development Fellow. She resides with her husband, Brian.

Christine A. Mockler, a nursing major, received the E.A. Center Memorial Building Scholarship. A 1983 graduate of Lisbon High School, she attended Mid-State College.

Tracy Walton, a nursing major, received the College of Nursing and Health Professions Student Nurses Organization Scholarship. She is a 1996 graduate of Edward Little High School. She is the ddaughter of Tina and Greg Walton of Auburn.

Craig Aaron Timberlake, a history and international studies double major, received the Esther Wood Scholarship. A 1994 graduate of Cony High School in Augusta, he is the son of Gary Timberlake of Auburn and Rose Lagasse of Auburn. He resides with his wife, Jill, in Portland.

Bethel

Grayson R. Wakefield, a leadership and organizational studies major, was inducted into the Phil Kappa Phi Honor Society. He is a 1998 graduate of Telstar Regional High School and is the son of Cynthia Campbell of Bethel and Richard Wakefield of Locke Mills.

Kate Nickerson Dumais, a leadership and organizational studies major, received the Lewiston-Auburn College Scholarship. She is a 1998 graduate of Telstar Regional High School and is the daughter of George and Danna Nicherson of Bethel. She resides with her husband, Chad.

Bowdoinham

Cheryl Donahue, an arts and humanities major, received the Edna Frances Dickey Scholarship and the Dr. Frances Bailey Scholarship. She is the daughter of John and Maria Gall of Lansdale, Pa. She resides with her husband, Jack.

Bridgton

Jennifer Patricia Coulombe, a psychology major, received the USM Honors Program Scholarship for Academic Excellence. She is a 2000 graduate of Lake Region High School of Naples and is the daughter of Roy and Debbie Coulombe of Bridgton.

Gray

Kristen Madden, a communications major, received the Robert L. Woodbury International Scholarship. She graduated from high school in 2001 and is the daughter of Daniel and Patricia Madden of Foxboro, Mass.

Greene

Rhonda Marie Clukey, a social and behavorial sciences and a leadership and organization studies major, received the Sister of Charity scholarship. She is a 1987 graduate of Lewiston High School and is the daughter of Brenda and Freeland Witham.

Hebron

Nicole Chase, a College of Nursing & Health Professions major, receive the Mabel G. Skillin Nursing Scholarship. She is 1991 graduate of Hebron Academy and is the daughter of William and Judith Chase.

Lewiston

Aline Elie, a nursing major, received the Mildred A. Roche/Alyce G. Greene Nursing Scholarship. She is a 1979 graduate of St. Dominic Regional High School. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John P. McDonald of Oquossoc. She resides with her husband, Gary.

Rebecca L. Lebrun, a natural and applied sciences major and a leadership and organizational studies major, received the Mechanics Savings Bank Scholarship and the Helen L. Greenwood Science Scholarship. She graduated from Leavitt Area High School of Turner in 1995. She is the daughter of Anne and Richard Labranche of Turner. She resides with her husband, Lee.

Joseph S. Zidle, an industrial technology major, received the School of Applied Science, Engineering and Technology scholarship. He is the son of Lewis and Joy Zidle of Lewiston. He and his wife, Christine, live in Standish.

New Gloucester

Erin Pendexter, a nursing major, received the Gertrude L. Stone Scholarship, the Katherine L. Cross ’70 and the Dr. Harlan Philippi Memorial Scholarship and the Lewiston-Auburn College Scholarship. She is the mother of Kasey, Mary and Zeke Pendexter.

Rumford

Brenda Callahan, a nursing major, received the Mabel G. Skillin Nursing Scholarship and the Lewiston-Auburn College Student Government Scholarship. A 1970 graduate of Rumford High School, she resides with her son.

Wales

Tonia M. Gilley, a nursing major, received the Mabel Skillin Nursing Scholarship. She is the daughter of David and Linda Gilley.
