1907 – 2003

BRUNSWICK – Marion H. Scott, 96, of Topsham, wife of the late Ermo H. Scott, died unexpectedly Oct. 22, at a Brunswick hospital.

She was born May 8, 1907, in Bangor the daughter of Frank and Margaret (Leggatt) Blaisdell. She graduated from Bangor High School in 1925 and Farmington Normal School in 1927. She taught at East Corinth Academy, Marble Head, Mass. and Castine Normal School.

She belonged to MOCA, the Federated Women’s Club in Castine, St. Andrew’s Society, Kennebec Valley Art in Hallowell, University of Maine at Farmington Alumni, member of the Castine Trinitarian Church as well as the church women’s group.

She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Margaret “Bonnie” and Henry Applin of Pepperell, Mass., Martha “Robin” and Paul Wheeler of Whitefield; one brother, Colonel Frank R. Blaisdell, Ret. of Charlottesville, Va.; one sister, Jeanie Boyer of West Yarmouth, Mass.; three granddaughters, Margaret and Sarah Applin of Danvers, Mass., Susan and her husband David Hipsky of Acton, Mass.; two great-granddaughters, Melanie Anne and Erika Lynn Hipsky both of Acton, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband she was predeceased by her brother, Cecil Blaisdell; and her sister, Sarah Richardson.
