SOUTH PARIS – Cass Ells blasted through the line for a 1-yard touchdown run to give Oxford Hills a 15-8 win over Windham in PTC football action Saturday.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Vikings used a 5-yard run by Ells to take the early lead in the second quarter.

Windham answered in the second quarter with an electrifying 60-yard touchdown run by Chris Molleur.

The Vikings used a 30-yard punt return to midfield by Jeff Tifft to set up the go-ahead score. Runs of 16 yards and 12 yards by Tim Cote and Ells, respectivley, placed the ball at the 1-yard line, setting the stage for Ells to plunge over for the winning score.

Oak Hill 17, Morse 0

WALES – Kyle Herrington swiped through the line for a 72-yard run touchdown in the second quarter to give Oak Hill the 17-0 shutout over Morse.

Late in the fourth quarter, the Raiders’ Herrington raced 12 yards for another touchdown, followed by a two point conversation to secure the win.

He rushed 15 times for 115 yards.

Hyde 12, Hebron 7

HEBRON – Jessie Wolstein picked up a loose ball and raced 55 yards to give Hyde School a 12-7 win over Hebron in football action Saturday.

The Phoenix took the early lead on a 21-yard run by Will Hood in the second quarter.

Hebron answered with a 27-yard run from Greg Gumbs and an Adam Nyitray extra point ,setting the stage for Wolstein’s game-winning run.

Lisbon 44, Traip 0

LISBON – Quarterback Chris Gates went 4-for-5 with 92 yards and tossed a pair of touchdown passes to lead Lisbon to a 44-0 rout over Traip Academy in Class C football action Saturday.

The Greyhounds (8-0) got off to a running start as Jon Tefft made a 9-yard touchdown run sandwiched by 20- and 11-yard runs from Derek Roy.

Lisbon continued their offensive prowess with a pair of passing touchdowns from Gates to Levi Irving in the second quarter. Gates put on a show in the third frame with an interception return and a quarterback sneak in the win.

Lisbon backs Tefft and Tony Walker were consistant with 83-yards on eight carries and 77-yards on six carries, respectively.

Boys’ soccer
Mt. Abram 1, Hall-Dale 0

SALEM – Sam Witherspoon found the back of the net 31 minutes into the first half to propel No. 2 Mt. Abram to a 1-0 win over No. 7 Hall-Dale in Class C semifinal soccer action Saturday afternoon.

Witherspoon picked off a through pass and raced to within 14 yards before blasting the ball into the net for game-winning shot. Andy Sperry needed only one save to register the shutout.

The Roadrunners advance to face No. 1 NYA in the regional final Wednesday.

Seacoast Christian 1, Buckfield 0

BERWICK – Adam Flint fscored from 20-yards out with 3:46 remaining in overtime to lead No. 3 Seacoast Christian Academy to a 1-0 win over No. 6 Buckfield Saturday in Class D tourney action.

Buckfield’s goalie Jeremy Stevens who had 19 saves.

Field hockey
Greely 1, Leavitt 0

Cumberland – Julia Chase scored the game’s only goal at the 15 minute mark of the second half to lift No. 1 Greely to a 1-0 win over No. 4 Leavitt in Western Maine Class B field hockey semifinals.

Kristen Walker made four saves to record the shutout while Kristin Schrepper turned back three shots for Leavitt.

Gardiner 3, Oxford Hills 0

READFIELD – Heidi Hanley converted a pass from Ashley Densmore to drill in a goal with 3:26 left in the first half to send Gardiner to a 3-0 shutout over Oxford Hills Saturday in the Eastern Class A semifinals.

Hanley added an insurance goal midway through the second half for the No. 2 Tigers.

Laura Minon then added a goal seconds before the end of the match to secure the win.

Goalie Val Seems had 20 saves for the Vikings.
