1932 – 2003

LEWISTON – Joseph L. Dube, 71, of 9 Avalon St., Lewiston died at Montello Manor Thursday evening, Oct. 30, following a long illness.

He was born in Frenchville on Feb. 26, 1932, the son of Alfred and Estelle (Leclerc) Dube.

He was employed in the shoe industry. Before comming to the Lewiston/Auburn area from Canada he had studied at a religious institution in order to become a Brother but had a change of heart.

He was a member of Holy Cross Parish, he enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman.

On July 2, 1960 he married the former Aurore P. Caron.

Besides his wife of Lewiston he is survived by one daughter, Miss Annette Dube of Greene; three sons, Anthoine of Greene, Henry and Richard Dube of Lewiston; seven sisters, Mrs. Adeline Griffin of East Hartford, Conn., Mrs. Leopold (Mathilda) Sirois of Kissimmee Fla., Mrs. Alfreda Dionne of Guerrette, Mrs. Odile Earl of Ste. Agathe, Mrs. William (Stella) Hayden of Massachusetts, Mrs. Anne Marie Bernard of Ste. Agathe and Mrs. Pauline Morency of East Hartford Conn.; four brothers, Patrick of Manchester, N.H., Guy of Lewiston, Alfred of Swansea, Mass., and Jean Paul of East Hartford, Conn.; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one brother, Phillip.
