PORTLAND – Rita Conley, 85, of Colonial Court in Portland, died Saturday, Nov. 8, at Maine Medical Center in Portland, following a brief illness.

She was born in Montreal, a daughter of Albert and Harrietta Golden Fauteux, and was educated in Montreal schools.

She married John Conley in 1948 and moved to Portland, and has resided locally since that time.

She was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church, was a member of their women’s council, and enjoyed making crafts for the annual church fair.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by two sons, John J. Conley and his wife Cindi of Londonderry, N.H., and William D. Conley and his wife Diane of Jackman; two grandchildren, Jamie Conley of Londerry, N.H., and David Conley of Jackman.

She was predeceased by by her husband of 45 years, John J. Conley, in 1993.
