1920 – 2003

LEWISTON – Lucille A. Giroux Godbout, 83, of 143 Mill St., Auburn, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Central Maine Medical Center.

Born in Augusta, June 15, 1920, the daughter of Anatole and Lena Fontaine Giroux, she was educated in Augusta schools.

She was married in 1937 to Romeo A. Godbout, who predeceased her in 1994. She was employed at Belgrade Shoe Co. from 1960 to 1969 and at General Electric in Auburn from 1969 to 1974 when she retired.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish and the Red Hatters Club. She enjoyed the company of her many friends at Baker Mill Arms, where she lived.

Survivors include a daughter, Gloria White and husband, Robert of West Gardiner; two sons, Lionel Godbout and wife, Lennice of Minot and Larry Hunt of Los Angeles, Calif.; two brothers, Lawrence Giroux and wife, Jeannette and Arthur Giroux and wife, Joan all of Augusta; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, David Hunt.
