1912-2003

AUBURN – Laura M. St. Pierre, 91, formerly of 28 Pearl St., Lewiston died unexpectedly Friday evening, Nov. 14, at 20 Great Falls Plaza.

She was born in Grand Isle on June 21, 1912 the daughter of Severin and Louise (Lavoie) Ouellette and had been a resident of this community since 1932.

She was very proud of the fact that she and her sister Estelle attended Fort Kent Normal School.

Coming from Grand Isle she had worked at Old Orchard Beach as a waitress and had enjoyed going to the big bands on the pier. She later came to Lewiston and was employed in the local dress shops and then retired from the local shoe industry as a fancy stitcher.

She had married Patrick M. St. Pierre on July 2, 1942 at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Lewiston and he died on March 25, 1983. While living in Lewiston they were very proud of their vegetable and flower gardens. Mrs. St. Pierre enjoyed cooking, canning her home grown vegetables, traveling with her husband, sewing and playing cards.

She was a member of Holy Cross Church, Holy Cross Senior Citizens, Ladies of Holy Cross, Lewiston Senior Citizens, an honorary member of Les Dames De Ste. Anne, Horizon 55 and Covenant 50.

She is survived by: one daughter, Rachel Paradis and her husband, Robert, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two sons, Roger St. Pierre of Greene and Daniel St. Pierre and his fiancé, Carol Giasson White, of Auburn; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Paradis of Scottsdale, Ariz., Eric St. Pierre of Auburn, Chris St. Pierre and his wife, Angela, of Turner, Nadeen Savarirayan and her husband Naveen of Scottsdale, Ariz., Kevin St. Pierre and his wife, Kim, of Auburn and Sara St. Pierre of Auburn; four great grandchildren, Mikaila, Mariah, Megan and Keenan St. Pierre; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by one sister Estelle Geoffrion of Manchester, N.H.
