AMHERST, Mass. (AP) – Greg Moore’s goal with 42 seconds left in the second period gave Maine a 1-1 tie with Massachusetts on Friday night.

Massachusetts (8-2-1, 5-2-1 Hockey East) struck first. With about five minutes left in the first period, James Solon scored for the Minutemen, with Stephen Werner and Craig MacDonald assisting.

Maine (9-2-1, 4-2-1) evened the game when Michael Leveille’s pass found Moore skating up the center behind the UMass defense.

Jimmy Howard made 20 saves for Maine, while Gabe Winer made 24 saves for UMass.
