1939-2003

POLAND – Jeannette F. Bowie, 64, of Poland died Saturday morning, Nov. 22, at her home surrounded by her family who had lovingly cared for her.

She was born in Canton, June 3, 1939, the daughter of Robert Taylor and Eva Taylor Richards and attended Canton schools. She had worked in shoe shops throughout the Livermore Falls area then at the Canton Drugstore. Most recently she was a bartender working in Lewiston bars like the Knotty Pine and the Lewiston Social Club before her disabilities became too great and she could no longer work.

She loved flowers and gardening, racing at Oxford Plains Speedway, watching her husband, sons and daughter-in-law capture many victory lane finishes and championships. She also had a very large collection of recipes and enjoyed cooking.

She married Donald Bowie, Sr. in 1978.

Survivors include: her husband of Poland; two sons, Freddie DiPompo and his wife, Monique, of Canton and Mark Bowie and his wife, Stephanie, of Mechanic Falls; a daughter, Natalie Kyllonen and her husband, Rudy Jr., of Mechanic Falls; stepchildren, Carol, Donald Jr., Mary, Tammy, Addison, Joseph and Brenda; two sisters, Roberta Olson and her husband, Ernie, of Auburn and Marie Canewell of Auburn; two brothers, Robert Taylor and his companion, Darlene, of Wiscasset and Harry Taylor and his wife, Del, of Middleburg, Fla.; 21 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
