1939 – 2003

AUBURN – Donald L. Philbrook, 64, of Auburn, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, at his residence with his family by his side following a courageous battle with cancer.

Mr. Philbrook was born in Brewer, Oct. 22, 1939, the son of Lee R. and June (Estes) Philbrook. He graduated from Brewer High School and later went on to receive his B.A. from the University of Maine, Orono, and his Masters Degree in Psychology from the College of William & Mary in Virginia.

Mr. Philbrook worked for Pineland Center as a Psychologist from 1980-1995, then later was employed by AMHI in Augusta. He also held a private practice in Augusta and Portland which he began in 2000.

On April 17, 1978, he married Joyce Grady. Mr. Philbrook was an avid sports enthusiast. He enjoyed all sports, in particular baseball where he always supported the Boston Red Sox. He will be sadly missed but always remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend, and colleague.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce of 25 years; a daughter, Erin Philbrook-Bullock and her husband Nat of Auburn; a son, Donald Philbrook of Auburn; and a grandchild, Cobey Bullock of Auburn.
