AUGUSTA – Dan Dufault of Turner has been sworn in as a game warden pilot. Dufault will be based in the southern division of the Maine Warden Service.

Dufault will work out of the Turner Aviation Field which neighbors Route 4. He will cover an area that stretches from Rangeley in the west, downeast to Machias. As a warden pilot, Dufault will be instrumental not only in enforcement activities, but also in search and rescue efforts, fish and wildlife surveys, stocking fish, boating enforcement and snowmobile and ATV details.

Dufault first got his pilot’s license when he was 16 and he has been flying ever since. He has worked for Currier’s Air Service in Greenville and spent over four years as a bush pilot flying for two different sporting lodges in Alaska before returning to Maine. He is a licensed aviation mechanic.
