1918 – 2003

LEWISTON – Roland J. Perron, 85,of 4 Tampa St., Lewiston, died Friday morning, Nov. 28, 2003, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center following a short illness.

He was born in Marbleton, P.Q. on Nov. 1, 1918, the son of Aime and Amanda Labonte Perron. He had been a resident of this community since 1921.

He was self-employed as owner and operator of Perron the Tailor for more than 30 years, until his retirement in June of 1978.

He was a veteran of World War II having served with the 266th Engineer Combat Battalion, and having served in the Normandy Invasion and in Northern France.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #22 and a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church.

In 1946, he married the former Gracienne Dallaire who died Aug. 24, 1985.

He is survived by two sons, Paul and Richard Perron, both of Lewiston; four sisters, Cecile Gagnon of Lewiston, Mrs. Paul (Madeleine) Hebert of Auburn, Dorothy Perron of Lewiston, and Jeannine Guay of San Diego, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one sister, Gilberte Perron and one brother, Alcide Perron.
