On Wed, October 22 the Lisbon Rotary club held a spaghetti supper and an auction to raise money for the Student of the Month Fund at Lisbon High School. Five times a year a member of each class at the high school is chosen as student of the month. The student is nominated by teachers and staff at the high school. This year’s fundraiser was a big success and raised over $1,500.

Food for the spaghetti super was bought and supplied by the Lisbon Rotary Club. Members of the Rotary club, town residents, and businesses donated goods or services for the auction. Ed Madden, a Member of the Lisbon Selectmen Committee, was the auctioneer.

The Lisbon High School Interact Club helped serve the supper. Not only did they serve food; they helped setup and pickup. The Interact club is a group run by the students and assisted by Lisbon High School teacher, Jeff Harper. The purpose of the Interact Club is to help the community by volunteering their time and talents. They help in a number of events. They’re currently working on the “Coats for Kids” campaign and will be starting their annual toy drive. In addition, they are preparing for a Thanksgiving dinner on Nov. 27, starting at 7 a.m. Also for the people that are unable to leave their houses in the Lisbon/Lisbon Falls community, they will be delivering a Thanksgiving dinner to them.
