1926 – 2003
NORWICH, Conn. – Samuel Mereen, 77, of 93 Newton St., Norwich, died Sunday, Nov. 23, after a lengthy illness.
He was born April 1, 1926, in Bath, the son of Samuel Mereen and Eva Ratliff Mereen. He attended schools in Wilton and, after World War II, he completed his education at Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield.
He married Patricia Leland Mereen, his wife of 50 years, on July 19, 1953, in Dover-Foxcroft. She survives him. Besides his wife, he is survived by sons, Thomas Mereen, John Paul Mereen, James Mereen; daughter, Margaret Job, their spouses; and six grandchildren.
