LEWISTON – The Joy of Sharing, a cooperative effort of Hannaford Supermarkets, WGME News 13 and The Salvation Army, is bringing nationally known wrestling star Scotty 2 Hotty to the Lewiston Hannaford store.
He will collect toys and hand out autographs from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18. His appearance will be featured during that evening’s WGME 13’s newscasts, which include Live at Five and WGME News 13 at 6 p.m.
Scotty 2 Hotty’s appearance will mark the fourth consecutive year that the Westbrook native has hosted a Joy of Sharing event. Typically, several hundred toys are collected during the evening. Each year, The Joy of Sharing collects and distributes 10,000 toys for the needy in Maine and parts of New Hampshire. The program also involves contributions to the Salvation Army kettle at Hannaford stores.
