1920 – 2003

AUBURN – Donald A. Bragdon, 83, of Auburn, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, at the Odd Fellows Home, with his family by his side.

Born in Lewiston, April 11, 1920, the son of Ernest and Mary (Lawless) Bragdon, he married Esther D. Darling in Auburn in 1938.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the European Theater during World War II, where he received two Bronze Stars.

He owned Maine Tree Service in Auburn for several years and later worked as a supervisor for Seaward Construction Co. in Kittery, until his retirement in 1980.

Survivors include his wife of Auburn; his four children, Patricia Barry of Auburn, Donald C. Bragdon of Florida, Judith Bressette of Lisbon and Kathy Bragdon of Auburn; one sister, Marylou LeBlanc of Connecticut; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great great- grandson.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Bernice and Theresa; and one brother, Kenneth.
