1927 – 2004
LEWISTON – Sewall W. Davis Jr., 78, of Ridgewood Ave., Lewiston, died Friday afternoon at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
Born in Vinalhaven, April 17, 1927, he was the son of Sewall and Ruth Blake Davis. He attended local schools, graduating from Edward Little. High School.
On March 14, 1947, he married Wilda M. Mehuren. She died in 1996.
He served in the National Guard. He was a member of United Methodist Church, United Commercial Travelers, and Odd Fellows. He was still working as a utility worker at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, and previously retired from Food Town and Pioneer Plastics.
He enjoyed painting, gardening, traveling, fishing, joking, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, many family members and friends.
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Marston of Lewiston, and Cynthia Bruno-Chessey of Auburn; four grandchildren, Jason Marston of Lewiston, Jennifer Marston of Lewiston, Christopher Bruno and his wife Patricia of Orlando, Fla., and Andrea Bruno of Lewiston; four great-grandchildren, Michael Marston of Lewiston, Devyn and Kayla Bruno, both of Orlando, Fla., and William Marston of Lewiston; cousins Marsha and Ruthann Blake of Derry, N.H.; brother-in-law Roland Mehuren and his wife Ruth of Whitefield; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a baby daughter; a son, William Davis; a brother; and a son-in-law, Franklin Marston.
