OXFORD – The Lake Thompson Fish and Game Association will meet for a 6:30 p.m. potluck supper on Thursday, Jan. 8. The meeting will begin at at 7. The session will be held at the clubhouse on the Paine Road in East Oxford, just beyond the Rock-O-Dundee Snowmobile clubhouse.

Guest speaker will be Crystal Terreault of the Game Warden Service. The public is welcome. Anyone planning to attend the supper is asked to bring a hot dish, salad or dessert.

Officers for the upcoming year are: president, Don Record of Oxford; vice president, Allan Mendenhall of Poland; secretary, Lorelei Dodge of South Paris; and treasurer, Ann Bellwood of Oxford.

The club has many events and fund-raising functions being planned for the 2004 season. The indoor archery practice shoot, which is being held Wednesday evenings, resumes Wednesday, Jan. 7. Experienced teenagers are encouraged to attend but must have their own equipment. Anyone interested in signing up or for more information should contact Ken Record at 743-2696.

The indoor pistol (.22 caliber) practice shoot will held on Tuesday nights beginning Jan. 13. To sign up or for more information, contact Art Reynolds at 539-4159. Both shoots begin at 6 p.m. at the clubhouse.

The club is running a raffle on 100 gallons of heating oil from C.N. Brown Heating of South Paris. Tickets are available at Record Building Supply, Edo’s and Mole Hole in Oxford, and several members have them.

The club’s second annual winter dance is being held 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at the Staples Community Hall in Welchville. Dance music will be provided by Elton Record and the Record Family Band. Tickets are $8 at the door and $7 in advance. A snack bar will be available with hot dogs, sandwiches, popcorn and sweets. The clubhouse kitchen is being remodeled and the club needs anything to help stock the cabinets. The club could also use small electrical appliances along with tables and kitchen or folding chairs. Items can be picked up in the Oxford Hills hills area. For more information call 890-4871.
