1943 – 2004

LEWISTON – Pierrette (Dot) D. Cyr, 60, of 245 Pond Road, Lewiston, passed away peacefully Sunday night, Jan. 4, at Central Maine Medical Center, with her loving family and friends at her side, after a courageous battle with a serious illness.

One of five children, “Dot” was born in Drummondville, Canada, June 19, 1943, to Royal and Julliette Vallieres. She attended school in Auburn.

She worked at Crest Shoe Co. until 1991, when she retired to care for her grandson. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and homemaker. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts, going to flea markets and yard sales.

Her grandchildren were her passion.

She also enjoyed having long talks, coffee and going out to eat with her lifelong friend, Yolande Lampron. She was especially proud of her grandson, Dylan, who is an all-star goalie for the L-A Pewee Travel 1 hockey team.

Survivors include her loving husband of 40 years, Richard (Dick) Cyr; one son, Mark D. Cyr and his wife, Angela of Greene; one daughter, Tina M. Labonte of Lewiston; three grandchildren, Dylan R. Labonte, Kiani Prebiti and Connor M. Cyr; three brothers, Gilles Vallieres and wife, Charlotte of Durham, Richard Vallieres and wife, Gloria of Greene and Lucien Vallieres of Lewiston; one sister, Michelline Goulet and husband, Fernand; a sister-in-law, Berniece Vallieres; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother, Charles Vallieres of Durham; and her mother and father, Royal and Julliette Vallieres.
