1929 – 2004

LOWELL, Mass. – Robert Charles Given, 74, of Cambridge, Mass., formerly of Berlin, N.H., passed away on Sunday morning, Jan. 4, at the Fairhaven Nursing Home.

Born in Berlin, N.H., June 12, 1929, the son of William L. and Rena (Watson) Given, he grew up in the Berlin area.

He entered the U.S. Navy and served on the Battleship New Jersey during the Korean Conflict. He has resided in Massachusetts, for many years and had been employed at Nick’s Beef and Beer.

He was a member of the American Legion and had been a member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Berlin. He was a graduate of Berlin High School in Berlin, N.H., and Burdett College in Massachusetts.

Survivors include his sister, Pauline P. Sweeney of Concord, N.H.; a nephew; and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents; and a brother, Arthur W. Given.
