LYNDON CENTER, Vt. – Lyndon State College senior Pat Driscoll of Greene was named a finalist for Best News Reporting in the Collegiate Broadcasters Inc. competition. Awards were announced at the November National College Media Convention in Dallas, Texas. Driscoll is the son of Bruce and Tina Driscoll.

Driscoll shares the award with LSC senior Tim Hagerty of Canton, Mass., for a piece they did together called “Unlikely Fire,” which aired on LSC-TV News 7 evening news program. News 7, a CNN affiliate, produces two news shows every weekday during the school year for broadcast on the area cable network.

One of the top four colleges in the CBI competition, LSC-TV News 7 received more than a dozen awards earlier this year from the Society of Professional Journalists and the Vermont Associated Press.

The CBI is a national association for students working in radio, television, webcasting and related media ventures. Awards are selected by professionals from around the country.
