1922 – 2004

LEWISTON – Mary Ann Chaisson, 81, of 43 Oak Hill Road, Auburn, died Thursday, Jan. 8, at Ste. Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion.

Born in Old Town Oct. 3, 1922, a daughter of Arthur J. and Flora Holmes Breau, she was educated in Old Town schools.

She married Francis Chiasson Nov. 15, 1941. He died June 17, 1993.

Mrs. Chiasson lived in this community since 1947 and was a member of St. Phillip’s Parish and Auburn Senior Citizens. She worked 25 years at Bates Manufacturing Company as a packer.

She loved spending time with family and friends, and enjoyed knitting and flower gardening.

She is survived by a son, Bruce Chiasson and his companion Sharon Maheux of Mechanic Falls; three grandchildren, Dorian and Dawn Rivard of Auburn, Mark and Bonnie Chapman of Lisbon Falls, and Robbie Chaisson and his companion Vicky Young of Lisbon; five great-grandchildren, Jennifer and Jeffrey Gould, Noah Chiasson, and Eric and Andrew Chapman; two brothers, Kenneth Breau and his wife Lucinda, and Charles Breau and his wife Lucille, all of Old Town; a sister-in-law, Rita Bennett of Auburn; two very special nieces, Shirley Richard and Charlene Vandez; and several other nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband; a son, Robert; two brothers, Harold and Elmer Breau; and a sister, Margaret Fortier.
