1924 – 2004

LEWISTON – Omer Hebert, 79, of Middle Road, Sabattus, died Tuesday evening, Jan. 13, at Central Maine Medical Center.

Born in Fort Kent, Nov. 30, 1924, the son of Ozime and Laura Bourgoin Hebert, he served in the National Guard.

He worked at Blanchette’s Moving, Allied Van Lines for 28 years and also worked for Hebert Construction. He was a member of Holy Family Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, taking care of his property and especially working in his garden.

Survivors include his daughter, Madeline Gendron and her husband, Armand of Virginia Beach, Va.; grandchildren, Tina Boucher and Armand Gendron III, also of Virginia Beach, Va.; great-granddaughter, Jazmyn McGhee also of Virginia Beach, Va.; sisters, Abel (Viola) Pelletier of Scarborough, Yvette Michaud of Lewiston, Elmer (Anita) Madore of Lewiston, Roland (Evelyn) Fraser of Freeport and James (Marie) Jeanne Cowan of Somers, Conn. He was predeceased by brothers, Camille Hebert and Joseph Leon Hebert; and sisters, Rella Michaud, Cecile Laura Hebert, Joan LaPiere and Priscilla Chasse.
