1928 – 2004

OXFORD – Edwin R. Gagne, 75, of Oxford, died Thursday, Jan. 15, at his home.

Born in Poland, May 7, 1928, the son of Fred and Mabel McKay Gagne, he attended schools in Mechanic Falls.

He had been employed as an oil delivery driver for Goss Hardware in Mechanic Falls and Ripley and Fletcher Co. in South Paris for many years.

He played the accordion at nursing homes along with Frank Pratt. He loved fishing, hunting, camping and traveling. He was married to Dorothy Thomas and she predeceased him.

Survivors include four daughters, Mary Dechene of Mooresville, N.C., Sarah Yarborough of Memphis, Tenn., Kathy Lefiuk of Orlando, Fla., Sandra Dolloff of Sebago; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Fredrick Gagne, Robert Gagne, Louis Gagne; three sisters, June Keene, Helene Keene and Sylvia Jackson; one stepdaughter, Henrietta Hines; and three stepgrandchildren.

He was predeceased by two sons, Richard and Randall; a brother, Donald; and a sister, Eleanor Jordan.
