LEWISTON – Lewiston-Auburn Toastmasters Club 1741 will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at the Bates Mill Complex, first-floor conference room, 35 Canal St.

The three speakers will be Andie Locke, Tom Nesbitt and Kathleen Stostek. Table topic master will be Augie Schau. All club meetings are open to visitors and they are always looking for new members.

Rotary speaker

LEWISTON – The speaker at the Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club meeting on Thursday, Jan. 22, will be Preston Jump who will speak about Big Brothers Big Sisters and the 100th anniversary of the program.

Anyone interested in the topic or in knowing more about Rotary is invited to attend. The cost of the noon luncheon at the Ramada Inn is $7.

Bird fanciers

NORTH MONMOUTH – The Northern New England Bird Fanciers will meet at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, to discuss future meeting places at the North Monmouth Community Center, Main Street. There will be election of officers and a light lunch at noon. Bird lovers are welcome.

Fear workshop

LEWISTON – The Lewiston Center for Women, Work and Community is offering a free workshop, “Moving Through Fear,” beginning Monday, Jan. 26. The five-session course will meet from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday through Feb. 23 at Lewiston/Auburn College.

Poster contest

NEW GLOUCESTER – Fiddlehead Center for the Arts, in partnership with Maine Public Broadcasting, will host an Arts and Cultural Festival next spring. The festival will be held on the Pineland Campus on May 14 and 15.
