1962 – 2004

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Michael L. Heina, 42, of Wilton Manors, died unexpectedly Friday, Jan. 16, at Broward General Hospital.

He was born in Lewiston on Jan. 8, 1962, the son of Walter D. and Theresa (Cloutier) Heina.

He attended Holy Cross School and Lewiston High School and was a graduate of a Florida floral design school.

He worked at various vacation resorts and restaurants in Florida. He had a great love for his family. Not too many weeks would go by without him calling not just his mother but the whole family. He helped keep the family close. He loved to paint, take care of his garden of plants, flowers and his two cats.

He is survived by his mother, Theresa, and his stepfather, David Harris of Lewiston; his father, Walter D. Heina of Hollywood, Fla.; one sister, Kimberly Heina of Auburn; one brother, Troy Heina of Hollywood, Fla.; his two best friends, Steve Washburn of Ft. Lauderdale and Steve Springman of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and many friends both in Florida, and Maine.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Rudolph and Blanche Cloutier; and his paternal grandparents, Frank and Pauline Whitney.
