Dear Sun Spots: Would you know where I could get a schedule for the bus routes in the Lewiston-Auburn area? I asked the bus driver and the Chamber of Commerce to no avail. I understand they are waiting for the new schedule but in the meantime it seems they could copy the older schedules. – A Sun Spots fan.

Answer:
Sun Spots called Western Maine Transportation Service Inc., which manages the bus system for Lewiston-Auburn and says the new schedule has been postponed for now. You can request a copy of the existing schedule be mailed to your home by calling (207) 777-4563, press 2 on the telephone options. They also will put your name on a list for the new schedule when it’s available.

Dear Sun Spots: Back in October or November, I purchased a beautiful handmade cross made with matches at a craft fair in Dixfield High School. It is signed by a Carolyn Sinclair on the back. If she reads this column, I’d like her to please get in touch with me as I am interested in purchasing more of them. I can be reached at (207) 369-9536. – No Name, No Town.

I watch them every day on both channels. I just love them. – Jackie Morin, Wales.

Dear Sun Spots: From time to time, I read in Sun Spots about folks looking for things but they only give their first name. I could help them out sometimes, but I don’t have a phone number to call them. For example, recently, someone asked about the “Waltons’ Homecoming” movie. I have that one and I’ll be glad to share it but who’s looking for it? Also, someone was looking for Ice Storm ’98. I have that from two different television stations. Who’s looking for it? If folks would give their phone numbers, I would call them and have copies for them within a day. I cannot charge for the contents of the tapes, of course, that’s copyright, but I ask a small fee for the cassette and use of equipment. Please call Dick to respond to this inquiry. I can be reached at (207) 782-0328. – Dick Obie, Lewiston.

Answer:
Dick, Sun Spots would recommend in these particular cases that you contact the column directly to answer that reader’s inquiry or search.

Dear Sun Spots: Readers might know that the second biggest issue for seniors (after affordable Rx drugs), is transportation. At SeniorsPlus, we have a super group of volunteer drivers. With the increasing demand for rides to medical appointments, we need a few more transportation volunteers. We give free, defensive-driver training, and you choose the days you can help. One or two rides a week will make a big difference. Call me at SeniorsPlus, (207) 795-4010. Thank you. – Annette Dorey, Volunteer Coordinator, No Town.
