Dear Sun Spots: Volunteers are hard at work planning the 27th Leavitt Area High School Project Graduation event. The main fund-raising activity will again be the annual auction to be held at Leavitt on March 20. Donations of cash, gift certificates, services and other auction items are desperately needed to ensure a successful event. Project Graduation is a chemical-free activity that has proven to reduce teenage fatalities and injuries on graduation night. Please contact Brenda Theriault at (207) 946-5750, Mary Anne Courbron at (207) 946-7430 or Leavitt Area High School at 1-800-498-8014 if you would like to donate to this lifesaving event. – Brenda Theriault, Greene.

Dear Sun Spots: Recently, the El Dorado restaurant in South Paris closed with no explanation. As a Christmas gift, my wife and I had received a gift certificate to the restaurant. We tried calling the phone number that we have on one of their takeout menus, and that number has been disconnected. Any information on what to do with this gift would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. – Bruce Oliver, South Paris.

Answer: Sun Spots contacted Nick Paradis who was involved with the restaurant but unfortunately has received no answer. Perhaps other readers out there would be able to assist Mr. Oliver.

Dear Sun Spots: I am seeking help in finding an Ashley wood stove made between 1977 and 1985. It’s more or less oval-shaped with sheet metal sides and a cast iron top and front. It can be fed from the front door or from the top. I’ve searched the Internet and it appears as though the company no longer exists. Does any one have any information on this company or where I might find a used stove in good shape like the one described above? – No Name, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: Can you help me locate a Westinghouse service manual for a Transistorphonic high fidelity record player. I need to replace a few parts on it, and need the information manual on how to do it. It is for Model No. 91ACS-1. If any Sun Spots readers can also help, please call me. I appreciate your help. I can be reached at (207) 375-9901. – Lisa R., Sabattus.

Answer:
Try contacting ServiceManuals.Net at The Treasure Chest Corp. 457 East Main St., Denville, NJ 07834, (973) 627-8600. Sun Spots tried to find it online at www.servicemanuals.net but was unable to do so.

Dear Sun Spots: I am hoping you can help me collect credit from my former phone carrier, OneStar. In September 2002, I changed my long distance phone company to another carrier. I was advised not to pay my last phone bill but wait for an adjusted bill. I didn’t and when the bill arrived I had a credit due to me. I’ve tried to get the credit refunded but one year later and after a dozen calls I’ve had no luck. Please help. – No Name, No Town.

Answer:
Unfortunately, Sun Spots has had no success with this inquiry. She has tried calling the number provided several times but unfortunately the line keeps ringing, then it’s answered and Sun Spots gets a busy signal. Perhaps there are other readers out there familiar with this company who may be willing to help.
