1919 – 2004

LEWISTON – Raymond F. Johnson, 84, formerly of 32 Jeannette Ave., Lewiston, died Saturday, Jan 24, at d’Youville Pavilion, with his family by his side. He had been a resident at d’Youville Pavilion for the past 13 years.

Born in Lewiston on March 23, 1919, he was the son of Fred and Katherine Johnson. Educated locally, he was employed for several years as a route manager for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company, retiring in the 1970s, and then drove a school bus in Auburn for several more years.

On Sept. 27, 1941, he was married to the former Lucille Richards, who passed away in 1989. A member of St. Patrick’s Parish, he enjoyed hunting, was an avid golfer and a member of the Fairlawn Country Club, and enjoyed competing in amateur golf tournaments, but his greatest joy came from time spent with his granddaughters, whom he adored.

Survivors include: his son, Richard and wife Andrea of Lewiston; two daughters, Eileen Johnson, of Lewiston, and Linda Banks of Lewiston; two granddaughters, Alyson and Stephanie Banks, both of Lewiston, and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son-in-law, John Banks, who passed away in February of 2000, three brothers and four sisters.
