BETHEL – Selectmen are expected to accept a Department of Homeland Security grant at their meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, in the town office.
Town Manager Scott Cole said the Oxford County Emergency Management Agency submitted a $15,000 grant application on behalf of the town, which has already received two mobile radios and 16 portable radios from the grant.
Other agenda items include:
• Endorsing the issuance of a request for proposals for the Bethel Ambulance barn rehabilitation project.
• Reviewing a proposal from the Tri-Town Solid Waste Committee to upgrade the transfer station.
• Authorizing an $18,500 contract for evaluation of sewer work in conjunction with a new recreational bridge over the Androscoggin River.
• Authorizing a blanket permit for hauling loads in excess of limits on municipal roads for an upcoming Maine Department of Transportation project to improve Route 26.
• A community awareness communication from Portland Natural Gas and Transmission System.
